Kodak Black Pays Rent For 200 Residents In Florida Housing Project
Rapper Kodak Black has once again extended a helping hand to his hometown community, this time by covering rent for more than 200 residents at the Golden Acres housing project in Pompano Beach, Florida – for the second consecutive month.
News of the generous act began circulating online over the weekend after a community member, believed to be either a resident or staff member at Golden Acres, shared the update in a heartfelt social media post.
“He may not want the limelight, but for the second month straight, @KodakBlack has paid the rent for over 200 residents in Golden Acres – the entire projects!” the post read. “A lot of people focus on the negativity. I want to see how many will share the good things you do. You’re a blessing to a lot of people. Thank you!”
This is not the first time the rapper, born Bill Kapri, has stepped in to support families facing housing insecurity. In 2022, he paid off the outstanding rent debts of 28 families who were at risk of eviction and covered their rent for the remainder of the year.
“28 families was ’bout to get evicted for being behind on their rent,” he explained at the time. “I paid what they owed and also paid their rent for the next few months so they good for the rest of the year.”
Back in 2021, Kodak also made headlines for donating 100 air conditioning units to residents in the same Golden Acres community. He reportedly spent around $12,500 on the units and personally distributed them to grateful residents, many of whom were moved to tears. The donation was made in partnership with local charity leader Francky Pierre of the Philanthropic Work and Outreach program.
Despite his often-controversial public image, Kodak has been vocal about wanting to be recognized more for his acts of service than for his past.
“I don’t care to be seen as a gangsta,” he said during an Instagram Live in 2023. “I’m a philanthropist, a good dude, righteous. I just want to be a good son and make my family proud.”
His continued support for the Golden Acres community highlights that commitment – and shows that, at least in his hometown, his actions are speaking louder than words.
