Shakira Resumes World Tour After Hospitalization in Peru

Colombian pop sensation Shakira has confirmed that her concert in Peru will proceed as planned, just a day after she was hospitalized, forcing her to cancel a previous show.

The 48-year-old singer was admitted to a hospital in Lima on Saturday night, leading to the postponement of her scheduled Sunday performance. However, on Monday, she reassured fans via Instagram that the show at the National Stadium in Lima would go on, with gates opening at 4:00 p.m. and the concert starting at 8:15 p.m. The post did not mention her health status.

Event organizers, Masterlive, also confirmed the concert would proceed and promised to announce a new date for the postponed show.

Shakira is currently on her first world tour in seven years, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (Women Don’t Cry Anymore), which kicked off in Rio de Janeiro shortly after she won a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album. She dedicated the award to migrants in the U.S. facing deportation.

With over 90 million records sold and four Grammy Awards, Shakira remains one of the most successful Latin artists of all time. Her tour includes nearly 50 performances across Latin America before continuing to the United States and Canada later this year.
