Snoop Dogg Fans Celebrate the Return of Classic Flow in New LaRussell Collaboration
Snoop Dogg has delighted fans with what many are calling a return to his classic style in a new collaboration with rapper LaRussell. The duo teased their upcoming track on Instagram on Thursday (August 15), and Snoop’s verse has been met with overwhelming praise from his longtime followers.
The teaser video begins with Snoop recalling how he convinced LaRussell to collaborate, saying: “He had a flight to catch but I was like, hold on ‘cuh. You really wanna catch that flight or you wanna come do something with unc’? Come on, man, it’s ya uncle, man, I’m right by the airport. So I bribed him, end up coming through.”
While LaRussell kicks off the verse, it’s Snoop’s lyrical contribution that has fans buzzing. In his verse, Snoop delivers lines reminiscent of his early days: “Six four dippin’, crippin’, hittin’ switches/ Nowadays I can’t even count up all my bitches/ Which is specific to how I get my digits/ Now bag it all up/ Now we can add to my riches.”
LaRussell shared the clip on his Instagram, captioning it with excitement: “SNOOP DOGG!!!!!!! THE DOGGFATHER HIMSELF HAS SPOKEN!!!! THIS IS HIP-HOP! Y’ALL HAVE WITNESSED ME GO FROM MY MOM’S GARAGE TO MEETING OBAMA! WHAT A LIFE!!!! LARUSSELL X @snoopdogg COMING SOON!!!”
Fans quickly flooded the comments with praise, with one user writing, “YEAHHH!! Unc blessed him one time! What a life.” Another simply declared, “Snoop is king,” while a third added, “Snoop ain’t lost a step.”
The collaboration with LaRussell isn’t the only music Snoop has in store. Earlier this week, Dr. Dre heightened anticipation for their forthcoming album Missionary, describing it as “some of the best music” he’s ever created. The album, which marks a reunion between Dre and Snoop since their iconic 1993 debut Doggystyle, is expected to showcase a more mature sound and is slated for a November release, coinciding with the 31st anniversary of Doggystyle.
