Snoop Dogg Settles ‘Greatest NBA Rapper Ever’ Debate

Snoop Dogg has chimed in on the ongoing debate about who the greatest NBA rapper is, and his choice aligns with his loyalties.

The iconic rapper recently shared a snippet of Shaquille O’Neal’s verse on the new track “3 Lokos” by Southern California duo Coyote. He used this as the key evidence to support his decision.

In an Instagram post, Snoop Dogg declared, “@shaq greatest NBA rapper of all time,” alongside the clip of the legendary center’s rap. In the verse, Shaq raps, “They think I’m on the brink of my insanity/ If he ain’t spitting like this for the money, then what can it be/ Momma managed me, Papa was in the military/ I come from The Bricks where the only option is just the cemetery/ I get in the mix opposite of Ben & Jerry’s.”

Snoop Dogg, a 51-year-old Los Angeles native, is known for his lifelong loyalty to the Los Angeles Lakers. His fondness for Shaq goes back to the early 2000s when the basketball legend helped secure three consecutive NBA championships for the Lakers.

Shaq has always been known for going hard both on and off the court, and his recent rap feature further demonstrates why he maintains such a dominant presence in the entertainment world.

On September 1, Coyote released their new single featuring Diesel (Shaquille O’Neal), marking a significant moment for the two Mexican kids from LA. They proudly shared, “Being 2 Mexican kids from LA, this was a special moment. WE BROUGHT @SHAQ BACK TO LA!!”

Speaking to TMZ on the same day, MCs Ladies Love Guapo and Ricky Blanco discussed how they brought about the collaboration with Diesel.

“[Shaq] was like as long as it’s some hardcore stuff, I’m down,” Guapo explained. “So we made a hardcore Hip Hop ’90s-type song, and we’re like, ‘Bro, let’s send it to Shaq,’ and he got on it, did his thing, he spit like 32 bars. He went off!”

He continued, “Four hours later he FaceTimes us and he shows us his verse and he went crazy! He’s rapping better than 90 percent of rappers out there.”
