Snoop Dogg to Carry Olympic Torch Ahead of Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony
Renowned American rapper Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., better known as Snoop Dogg, is set to carry the Olympic torch during the final stretch leading up to the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The grand opening ceremony, scheduled for Friday, July 26, 2024, will feature over 10,000 athletes parading on boats along the Seine River. Before the festivities commence, Snoop Dogg will carry the torch through Saint-Denis, a suburb of Paris.
Saint-Denis Mayor Mathieu Hanotin confirmed the news on his official social media account, stating, “Saint-Denis: last step before the Eiffel Tower. An international cast @SnoopDogg for the last stretch of the Olympic Flame.”
Joining Snoop Dogg as torchbearers are French rapper MC Solaar and French actress Laetitia Casta.
