Magnito Reacts as Oladips Drops Diss Track Over Headies Snub
Nigerian rapper Magnito has responded to his colleague Oladips, who recently released a diss track criticizing the Headies Awards for excluding him from the Best Rap Single category.
The controversy began after the 2025 Headies nominees were unveiled ahead of the April 5 award ceremony, with Oladips’ name missing from the rap category. Expressing his frustration, the rapper took to Instagram, calling out the organizers through a diss track.
“@theheadies make I school una real quick cos una just dey wurugbon l’enu. It doesn’t get more hip-hop than this,” he rapped.
Magnito’s Response
Reacting in an interview with HipTV, Magnito appeared to mock Oladips, suggesting that his frustration stemmed from needing the award more than other nominees.
“For him to have dropped a diss track about that category, that shows he needs the award more than all of us nominated. HipTV would have just tried, at least put one of his songs there to make him happy because I think he is hardworking too.”
Magnito emphasized that his priority is making money, not award nominations.
“If I don’t find my name there, I wouldn’t be bothered because my priority is how to get more gigs. But when I saw my name there, I realized how important it was.”
He further joked that Oladips might extend his diss track to all the nominated artists in the category.
This year’s Best Rap Single nominees include Magnito, Ladipoe, Odumodublvck, and Jeriq.
