Speed Darlington and Burna Boy

Speed Darlington’s Lawyer Challenges Burna Boy Over Chief Priest’s Allegations

Stan Alieke, lawyer to Nigerian singer Speed Darlington, has called on Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy to take legal action against socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, for alleged defamation. This comes in the wake of Burna Boy’s recent move to have Speed Darlington arrested for making similar claims.

Cubana Chief Priest has been engaged in a public feud with Burna Boy, using social media to mock the singer over an alleged connection with American music executive Diddy. Chief Priest insinuated that Burna Boy’s association with Diddy, which he claimed included compromising actions, was a tactic to secure a Grammy Award.

Speed Darlington faced legal trouble after making comparable remarks about Burna Boy, prompting Alieke to accuse the artist of selective justice.

In an Instagram story, Alieke wrote:
“Your petition claims that the Diddy and baby oil banter has caused ‘irreparable damage to your international reputation and has made you lose a lot of gigs.’ Well, another person with more reach and influence has just referenced the same banter. The world is now expecting you to involve the police and arrest him too, or the streets will perceive your actions as cowardice.”

The lawyer added that he is seeking fairness in how justice is applied.

Speed Darlington’s recent arrest over his comments on Burna Boy has sparked debate online, with many questioning why Chief Priest’s similar remarks have not faced the same scrutiny.

Neither Burna Boy nor his team has publicly responded to the lawyer’s challenge or Chief Priest’s posts as of the time of this report.
