TDE Executives Face Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Ahead of Major Performance
Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) is facing serious legal allegations just days before some of its biggest artists prepare for a high-profile performance.
According to a report by Newsweek on Friday (January 31), two anonymous women have filed a lawsuit against the label, accusing TDE employees of sexual harassment and assault. The lawsuit claims that when the women reported the alleged misconduct, management ignored their complaints.
Among those named in the suit is Brandon Tiffith, who is accused of making unwanted sexual advances and committing sexual battery. Also named is Anthony Tiffith Jr., son of TDE’s founder, who is alleged to have engaged in a “pattern of sexual harassment,” Complex reports.
One of the plaintiffs, described as a friend of a TDE artist, alleges she was sexually harassed twice by label employees. She also claims one of them gave her alcohol while she was underage to facilitate further advances.
Shounak S. Dharap, the attorney representing the accusers, described the case as a reflection of broader issues in the entertainment industry.
“This lawsuit presents a glaring example of the systemic abuse and exploitation in the entertainment industry,” Dharap said in a statement. “Our clients trusted TDE to act with integrity and professionalism. Instead, their trust was betrayed in profoundly damaging ways.”
TDE’s legal team has denied the allegations, calling the lawsuit a “shakedown.” Attorney Marty Singer, representing the label, accused the plaintiffs of fabricating claims and seeking a $48 million settlement.
“There are text messages and communications that totally refute these baseless claims,” Singer said, adding that the plaintiffs were never employed by TDE. “We are confident that we will prevail in this action.”
The lawsuit comes as speculation builds around a possible TDE reunion during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance on February 9. TDE rapper Ab-Soul hinted at a major moment in a cryptic post on X, fueling rumors that he and fellow Black Hippy members ScHoolboy Q and Jay Rock may join Lamar on stage.
