Nollywood Actress Pat Ugwu Passes Away at 35
Nollywood actress Pat Ugwu has passed away at the age of 35.
The news of her death was confirmed by fellow actor Emeka Okoye, who shared the heartbreaking announcement on Instagram on Wednesday. Expressing shock over her sudden passing, Okoye also revealed details of her funeral arrangements.
Mourning her loss, Okoye described the wave of recent deaths in the Nigerian film industry as alarming.
“Rest in peace, sis. Pat Ugwu. So we won’t get to work together again? Death, why? Rest in peace, PAT. May your soul rest in the bosom of the Lord,” he wrote.
The actor also called for divine protection over his colleagues, saying, “God, please protect all my colleagues, especially those I’m close to. This unusual pattern of deaths is frightening. I proclaim life to everyone close to me in this 2025 in the precious blood of Jesus. Amen.”
Ugwu’s death adds to the growing list of losses in Nollywood, leaving many in the industry deeply shaken.
