Timbaland Launches Exclusive ‘High Performance’ Athletic Shoe Line
Renowned producer Timbaland has announced the release of a limited edition collection in collaboration with minimalist footwear brand Vivobarefoot. The collection features a special version of the brand’s popular Motus Strength design, presented in an eye-catching black and gold colorway, with each pair bearing Timbaland’s signature.
With only 1,900 pairs available, the shoes are expected to be highly sought after. To further engage his fans, Timbaland has launched a giveaway offering two lucky winners a pair of the signature shoe in an exclusive all-gold color, along with a trip to Miami for a workout session with the music icon and his trainer, Phil Daru.
“My journey was not alone – neither does yours need to be. Let’s goooo,” Timbaland wrote in the contest announcement on social media.
In addition to this exciting launch, Timbaland recently made headlines with another partnership announcement. During a presentation at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in France on June 19, he and Swizz Beatz revealed that their Verzuz brand will now release content exclusively on Elon Musk’s social media platform, X (formerly Twitter).
“We are beyond thrilled to have found the best partner for Verzuz,” said Swizz Beatz. “Not only are we excited to have Verzuz on X, but we’re also excited to help X build the biggest entertainment company in the world. Timbaland added: “We are thrilled to partner with X, the most innovative platform globally. Our goal has always been to bring Verzuz to the world, which we can now do bigger than ever.”
However, the partnership announcement, made on Juneteenth, drew criticism from some fans, prompting Swizz Beatz to address the backlash on Instagram. In a photoset celebrating the new collaboration, Swizz included the phrase, “We will show you better than tell you,” and reiterated in the caption, “Blessings to all.”
Despite these efforts, some followers continued to express their disappointment, accusing the duo of “selling out” and questioning the choice of platform for Verzuz content. Swizz Beatz responded to the critics by pointing out that Verzuz has been on the platform since its inception.
