Addressing the speculations that had been circulating online, Toni Braxton emphatically denied any recent nuptials with Birdman, asserting that they are both currently single.
In a post on Sunday (December 31), Toni shared a photo with Birdman alongside a caption debunking the rumours, which she humorously tagged as #FakeNews. She wrote, “My dear friend @birdman and I are not married…never been married. We are both single.”
The rumour mill went into overdrive with claims that the musical power couple had tied the knot in Mexico. Even Toni’s sister, Tamar Braxton, added fuel to the fire by jokingly suggesting she was bombarding her sister with calls to uncover the truth.
Toni Braxton and Birdman’s relationship has been a subject of speculation for years, marked by its on-again, off-again nature. The two, initially friends, officially became a couple in 2016. Toni revealed Birdman’s “undercover romantic” side in a 2017 episode of Braxton Family Values.
Despite occasional rumours of a wedding, Toni’s representative quashed such claims in 2017, affirming that Toni was focused on her music, including the release of the single “Deadwood” from her upcoming album “Sex & Cigarettes.”
The couple’s creative collaboration dates back to 2002 when they worked on Birdman’s track “Baby You Can Do It.” While they briefly quieted relationship rumours in 2019, Toni and Birdman reignited the buzz last month when Toni posted a photo with Birdman, suggesting that their partnership remained strong.
Toni Braxton’s social media clarification puts an end to the recent speculation about her marital status, emphasizing that she and Birdman are not currently married and are both navigating the single life.
