South African pop star Tyla has released her latest single, Bliss, marking her first solo track since the deluxe edition of her debut album dropped in October 2024. The song, produced by Grammy-winning duo NOVA WAV and Sir Nolan, signals the beginning of a new era as she gears up for her second studio album.
Bliss debuted following weeks of fan anticipation, bolstered by a live performance at Coachella 2025 and Tyla’s standout appearance at the Met Gala on May 5. The track blends elements of Afro-pop, R&B, and amapiano, with a soft yet energetic sound that underscores the emotional highs of love and connection. Lyrics like “You take me to bliss / Never felt a love like this” and “Let my smile bring you peace of mind” paint a vivid picture of intimacy and joy.
Tyla’s angel-winged visuals, teased on April 29 and carried into the single’s release, visually echo the track’s themes of elevation and transcendence. In a nod to her social advocacy, Tyla also tied the release to her Erewhon smoothie – Bliss by Tyla – with proceeds supporting 18twenty8, a South African non-profit focused on empowering young women.
