Tyrese Requests New Judge Amidst Allegations of Bias in Ongoing Divorce Case

In the latest twist of his ongoing divorce proceedings, singer and actor Tyrese is seeking a change in the judge overseeing his case, alleging bias and unfair treatment. According to reports from TMZ on Tuesday (November 21), Tyrese filed a motion in court, claiming that Judge Farmer abruptly cancelled a crucial hearing that would have allowed him to present his side of the story before being required to pay a $450,000 bond.

Tyrese contends that Judge Farmer instead instructed him to produce the substantial sum within just 10 days, a demand associated with his appeal of a previous court order. The singer had intended to use the cancelled hearing to explain his financial constraints, attributing them to the impact of Hollywood strikes. Tyrese argues that the cancellation indicates a clear bias against him.

This development is not the first time Tyrese has raised concerns about Judge Farmer’s conduct. Earlier this year, the artist accused the judge of racism, alleging that the judge referred to his ex-wife with derogatory language in private chambers and illegally sealed the case to conceal misconduct.

“We tried to get him recused, we tried to get him thrown off the bench because of his conduct and his unprofessionalism. And then there were a bunch of things pertaining to the outcome of my case that he did that was literally illegal,” Tyrese claimed in a lengthy video posted on Instagram.

Tyrese’s discord with Judge Farmer dates back to August of the previous year when the judge threatened to hold him in contempt for a dispute with his ex-wife’s lawyer over earnings. At that hearing, Tyrese was ordered to pay over $10,000 monthly in child support. Tensions escalated during the proceedings, leading to a reduction in Tyrese’s lump sum payments after it was revealed that he had been covering Samantha Gibson’s car bill for the two years following their official separation. The divorce case initiated by Gibson against Tyrese commenced in 2020.
