Analogue Unveils Classic Limited Edition Pocket with Nostalgic Game Boy Colours
Leading video game hardware specialist, Analogue, continues to captivate gaming enthusiasts with its limited-edition releases, and the latest announcement is sure to stir up nostalgia among fans. The company has revealed the Classic Limited Edition line of its popular handheld gaming system, the Analogue Pocket, featuring iconic Game Boy and Game Boy Advance colours.
The Classic Limited Edition Pocket comes in eight colourways, meticulously designed to mirror the original shades of the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance: red, green, blue, yellow, pink, orange, indigo, and silver. Priced at $249.99 each, these limited-edition units are expected to sell out swiftly, maintaining the tradition set by Analogue’s previous releases.
This latest offering follows the transparent versions released in September, maintaining the same price point, which represented a $30 premium over the original. Given the track record of Analogue’s releases, anticipation is high for the limited-edition Classic Pocket.
Analogue’s Pocket has gained popularity for its ability to play original Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance cartridges out of the box. Optional adapters further extend compatibility to classic handheld platforms such as the Sega Game Gear, Atari Lynx, and Neo Geo Pocket.
Pre-orders for the Classic Limited Edition models are set to open on November 17 at 8 am Pacific time, with shipping scheduled just a few days later on November 20. The company is imposing a limit of two units per order, acknowledging the high demand for these nostalgic gaming devices.
In addition to the exciting Pocket release, Analogue has recently revealed plans for a modern version of the Nintendo 64, named the Analogue 3D. Expected in 2024, this system boasts original-style controller ports, display modes, and FPGA technology for a high-quality recreation of select CRTs. Featuring 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth wireless capabilities, the Analogue 3D will play original N64 cartridges in stunning 4K resolution, adding another dimension to classic gaming experiences. Pricing details for the Analogue 3D are yet to be disclosed.
