US Rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Arrested in New York on Federal Charges
American rapper and entrepreneur Sean Combs, known professionally as Diddy, was arrested on Monday night in New York by federal agents. His arrest took place at a Manhattan hotel following a grand jury indictment.
Marc Agnifilo, Combs’ lawyer, has criticized the U.S. Attorney’s Office for what he described as an unjust prosecution. Agnifilo emphasized that Combs voluntarily travelled to New York ahead of the charges, demonstrating his willingness to cooperate with authorities.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Agnifilo stated, adding, “Sean Combs is a music icon, a loving family man, self-made entrepreneur, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire and uplifting the Black community. He is not a criminal.”
The legal team expressed confidence in Combs’ innocence, pointing to his cooperation with the investigation. “These are the acts of an innocent man, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court,” Agnifilo said.
Combs, a prominent figure in the music industry, is currently facing multiple charges, including sexual assault, according to reports. The case is expected to proceed in court in the coming weeks.
