Victony Credits Breakthrough Song ‘Soweto’ for Life-Changing Success
Nigerian singer Anthony Ebuka Victor, widely known as Victony, has credited his hit song ‘Soweto’ with transforming his career and life. During a recent interview with Sound City, the artist shared how the global success of the song opened doors he never thought possible.
“‘Soweto’ changed my life,” Victony said. “It allowed me to travel to places I never imagined I would reach in such a short time.”
He noted that the song was already a success by late 2022, and to maintain its momentum into 2023, he collaborated with renowned artists Don Toliver and Rema on a remix. “They’re very big names, and their sounds are not far from what ‘Soweto’ sounds like,” he added.
Victony also mentioned that he is currently working as an independent artist, navigating the music industry on his own terms.
