Laycon Accuses DJ Neptune of Withholding Royalties for Hit Collaboration
Nigerian singer and former Big Brother Naija winner, Laycon, has publicly accused DJ Neptune of failing to pay royalties for their hit song “Nobody (Icons Remix).”
In a viral post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, Laycon claimed that DJ Neptune has not honored their royalty agreement for the track, which was released nearly four years ago.
“Abeg o, DJ Neptune how far my agreement and split for the ‘Nobody (Icons Remix)’ song though. Is it not still ready? Haba it’s been 4 years,” Laycon wrote, highlighting the need for artists to adhere to industry agreements.
The “Nobody (Icons Remix),” which also featured Joeboy, was a special release dedicated to Laycon’s fanbase, known as Icons, in October 2020. Despite the success of the track, DJ Neptune has yet to respond to Laycon’s allegations.
