Vybz Kartel Explains Why He Forgave Wife’s Infidelity
Jamaican dancehall artist Adidja Palmer, popularly known as Vybz Kartel, has revealed that he forgave his wife, Tanesha Johnson, for her alleged infidelity during his 13-year imprisonment.
Speaking on episode 443 of the Drink Champs podcast, Kartel disclosed that he learned about the affair through another woman while he was behind bars. The revelation left him in tears, but he chose to understand and move on.
“I still respect her because I understand she’s a human being… I forgave her immediately because I understand, but I just had to move on,” he said.
The dancehall star acknowledged that Johnson had been supportive throughout his incarceration, remaining loyal for years before eventually giving in to the pressures of his prolonged absence.
“She was there right through, but come on, I am in prison for 13 years; what do you expect her to do?” he added.
Tanesha Johnson has been a significant figure in Kartel’s life, known publicly as his longtime partner and the mother of his children. She remained a vocal supporter throughout his legal battles.
Vybz Kartel was released in August 2024 after spending over a decade in prison for his conviction in a murder case.
