Peter Okoye and Seun Kuti

‘We Can’t be Fighting Over Politicians’ – Peter Okoye, Seun Kuti Resolve Feud

Nigerian music stars Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P of the former P-Square duo, have reconciled after months of public tension linked to the 2023 general elections.

The disagreement began when Kuti described Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi as an “opportunist.” Okoye responded by questioning Kuti’s relevance and success in the music industry, sparking a heated exchange on social media that drew widespread attention.

However, the two artists appear to have put the dispute behind them. They were recently seen embracing at a nightclub in Lagos, signalling an end to the feud.

During their interaction, Kuti was heard telling Okoye that musicians should not be divided over political figures. “We are artistes, we can’t be fighting over politicians,” he said. Okoye agreed, shaking hands with him in a show of mutual understanding.

The moment has been welcomed by fans who had hoped both stars would move past their differences and refocus on their respective careers.
