WhatsApp to Introduce Animation Controls for Emojis, Stickers, and GIFs
WhatsApp is set to roll out a new feature in 2024 that will give users more control over animations in their chats. The update will allow users to manage how emojis, stickers, and GIFs animate during conversations, creating a more personalized and user-friendly experience.
Currently being tested in the WhatsApp Android beta version 2.25.1.10, the feature lets users decide whether these elements should animate automatically or remain static until activated. For those who prefer less distraction in their chats, the option to disable animations entirely for specific elements—such as emojis, stickers, or GIFs—is also available.
When the animation toggle is enabled, these items will play automatically, enhancing the dynamism of conversations. Turning it off keeps them static, providing a calmer interface for users who might find constant animations overwhelming.
This feature is part of WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to improve communication on the platform. By offering greater customization, the app caters to a broader range of preferences, ensuring users can tailor their chat experiences to their liking.
The animation controls are currently available to a limited number of beta testers through the Google Play Beta Program. A wider release is expected soon, as the feature becomes part of a stable update for all users.
With this upcoming addition, WhatsApp continues to evolve, delivering updates that enhance functionality and user satisfaction.
