The Sandman

When Will ‘The Sandman’ be Released on Netflix?

Netflix has a new adaptation of another exciting novel and this time, it’s the ‘Sandman.’

The Sandman, written by Neil Gaiman, tells the story of a conversation between gods and humans.

In 2019, Netflix signed a deal to create a show to translate Neil Gaiman’s words to the small screen.

What is The Sandman Story About?

According to Neil Gaiman’s official website, The Sandman is about “a wizard attempting to capture Death to bargain for eternal life traps her younger brother Dream instead.”

“Fearful for his safety, the wizard kept him imprisoned in a glass bottle for decades. After his escape, Dream, also known as Morpheus, goes on a quest for his lost objects of power.”

Gaiman Took His Time to Approve the TV Series:

According to Gaiman, he took his time to approve the project because he feared a possible failure when making the show.

“I didn’t have faith that we’d always get here, but I had faith that the important thing was to stop bad versions being made,” the author of The Sandman mentioned.

“Once a bad version is made, you never quite come back from that. It may sound silly, but when I was 14 or 15, my favorite comic was Howard The Duck.”

“And then A New Breed Of Hero came out. Howard The Duck became a bad joke. I never wanted that to happen to Sandman, and I saw scripts that would have made that happen,” Gaiman told Total Film.

When Will Netflix Release ‘The Sandman’ to the Public?

According to Netflix, the premiere of Sandman is on August 5, 2022 and Season 1 will have 10 episodes.
