Wizkid and Ayra Starr Ranked Among Top Global Artistes of 2024
Nigerian music superstars Wizkid and Ayra Starr have been recognized as two of the top global artistes of 2024, according to Chart Data. The music analytics platform unveiled its annual ranking of top artistes on New Year’s Eve, with Wizkid securing the 11th position and Ayra Starr coming in at number 18.
Another African artist, South Africa’s Tyla, also made the prestigious list, taking the 12th spot.
The top 10 artistes featured international music icons, including South Korea’s Jimin, and American stars Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, Beyoncé, and Kendrick Lamar. British pop sensation Charli XCX, alongside Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and Nicki Minaj, rounded out the list.
In addition to their individual achievements, Nigerian artists continue to shine globally. Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy were also named in Active Wurld’s “Top 20 Music Global Icons Shaping The Future,” with Davido placing 3rd, while Wizkid and Burna Boy were ranked 6th and 8th, respectively.
These accolades further cement the influence of Nigerian and African artists on the global music scene as they continue to captivate audiences worldwide.
