Yomi Fabiyi Alleges Mohbad’s Brother Demanded N3 Million for Video of Singer’s Fight with Wife

Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has claimed that Adura Aloba, the younger brother of late singer Mohbad, demanded N3 million in exchange for a video allegedly showing a fight between the singer and his wife, Wunmi, before his death.

Fabiyi made the allegation during a press conference in Lagos, stating that Aloba contacted him via social media to offer the purported evidence. According to Fabiyi, Aloba claimed the video showed Wunmi pushing Mohbad down the stairs during an altercation, resulting in the singer hitting his head and sustaining injuries that could be linked to his death.

“At about 4:23 p.m., Adura Aloba sent me a direct message after reacting to my comments,” Fabiyi said. “He offered to give me a video recording of a fight between the late singer and his wife, demanding N3 million for it. He narrated how the incident led to Mohbad falling down the stairs and hitting his head on the floor.”

Fabiyi stated that Aloba provided a three-second censored clip as proof, which featured audio of a heated argument in the background. He added that he filed a petition with the Lagos State Police Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to investigate the matter. However, he was later informed that Aloba’s identity might have been impersonated.

Fabiyi also expressed concern over what he described as a lack of coordination in the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death.

Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, died under controversial circumstances in September 2023. His death sparked widespread speculation and accusations against several individuals, including his wife, Wunmi; former label boss Naira Marley; and associate Samlarry, who was seen assaulting the late singer in a viral video.

Authorities have yet to conclude investigations into the cause of Mohbad’s death.
