Yomi Fabiyi Announces September 30 Protest for Justice in Mohbad’s Death Case

Nollywood actor and activist, Yomi Fabiyi, has announced plans to lead a peaceful protest at the Lagos State House of Assembly on September 30, 2024, demanding justice for the late Nigerian singer, Mohbad. The protest coincides with the resumption of the coroner’s inquest into the singer’s death.

In a public statement shared via Instagram, Fabiyi urged the general public to join the demonstration, aimed at pressuring authorities to obtain crucial CCTV footage from Mohbad’s residence, which he believes could be key in uncovering the truth behind the artist’s tragic death.

Fabiyi expressed frustration over the police’s failure to retrieve the footage, which he claims is stored remotely and could provide vital evidence. “We are certain that the CCTV cameras in and around Mohbad’s house were operational, and the footage is stored remotely. The builder and security team at Royal Pine Estate, where he lived, have answers,” Fabiyi wrote.

The activist emphasized that the protest is necessary to compel the Lagos State government to intervene by establishing a committee to retrieve the footage. He also highlighted concerns that efforts are being made to cover up evidence and distract from the investigation.

“Those who cut Mohbad’s life short are spending millions to cover up, create distractions, and bury critical evidence,” Fabiyi stated.

He called on supporters to join the peaceful protest to ensure that justice is served. “Come one, come all, and let’s speak in one voice on the 30th of September 2024. This struggle needs you. Be orderly and civil when attending,” he urged.

The protest is expected to attract wide public attention as the demand for justice in Mohbad’s death continues to gain momentum.
