YouTube Takes Down Davido’s Wedding Hit ‘Ogechi Remix’ Over Copyright Dispute

Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido’s popular wedding hit, ‘Ogechi Remix,’ has been removed from YouTube due to copyright issues. The song, performed live during Davido’s extravagant wedding to Chioma on June 25, 2024, featured collaborations with artists BoyPee, Brown Joel, and Hyce, and quickly became a fan favorite.

The music video, which was uploaded on July 19, 2024, has since been taken down by YouTube following a copyright claim. Despite the video’s removal, the audio remains accessible on BoyPee’s official YouTube channel.

It has been revealed that Davido is not listed as the official artist for the song on YouTube, which has sparked further discussion. A trending video circulating online suggests that the original version of ‘Ogechi’ was created by a different artist before the remix was made.
