Yvonne Jegede Reveals Financial Imbalance as Reason for Marital Split
Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has candidly discussed the reasons behind her decision to end her marriage to actor Olakunle ‘Abounce’ Fawole. She revealed that a significant factor was the financial disparity between them, with her contributing more than her ex-husband.
In an upcoming episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, Jegede opened up about her regrets, emphasizing that she prioritized love over financial stability, a choice she now questions.
“He [my ex-husband] is eight years older than me,” Jegede explained. “But once we got married, even small jokes were taken as disrespect because of the age difference. That was part of the problem, but not the main reason.”
Jegede further disclosed that the primary issue was her role as the main financial provider, which created a strain on their relationship. “I was bringing in most of the money,” she stated. “I’m raising my son almost entirely on my own. It’s challenging, and looking back, I might have chosen financial security over love.”
