6ix9ine Released on Bond Following Domestic Violence Arrest in Dominican Republic
Controversial rapper 6ix9ine has been released on bond after his recent arrest for alleged domestic violence against his girlfriend, Yailín la Más Viral, in the Dominican Republic.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the rapper was released from custody on Thursday (January 25) after posting a bond equivalent to approximately $507. The judge overseeing the case determined that the evidence presented by prosecutors was insufficient to justify his continued detention, citing Yailín’s lack of cooperation.
The assault claims were made by Yailín’s mother, Wanda Diaz, but Yailín herself denies that any violence took place. Diaz did not attend the proceedings to present her side of the story, reportedly due to an illness related to complications from cosmetic surgery.
Under the current conditions, 6ix9ine is prohibited from leaving the country without judicial permission and is required to make a court appearance every two months.
The “GUMMO” rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was initially taken into custody on January 17 on charges of allegedly inflicting “physical and psychological violence” on Yailín.
This incident marks the latest legal entanglement for 6ix9ine involving his tumultuous relationship with Yailín la Más Viral. In the previous month, she faced charges of felony assault following the release of footage depicting a physical altercation between the couple.
According to arrest records obtained by HipHopDX, Yailín la Más Viral (real name Jeorjina Guillermo Diaz) was arrested in Palm Beach County, FL, on December 15. She faced charges of felony battery, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, obstruction of justice, and criminal damage to property worth $1,000 or more. Record producer Santiago “Alofoke” Matias posted a surety bond of $9,000 on her behalf through 561 Bail Bonds.
Footage from 6ix9ine’s Instagram seemed to capture the argument in real-time. The rapper expressed concern for Yailín, stating that she needed help. The video showed an intense argument, including an incident where Yailin used a 2 x 6 to smash 6ix9ine’s phone. The altercation ultimately led to Yailin’s arrest.
