Adidas Clearing Out More Yeezy Shoes in Second Wave

Adidas is making a significant move to clear out the remaining inventory of its once-lucrative collaboration with Ye, the former Kanye West.

The sportswear giant has faced pressure from investors to handle the merchandise after terminating its partnership with Ye in 2022 due to his offensive and antisemitic remarks.

In May, Adidas announced its plan to sell the remaining Yeezy stock and allocate the proceeds to organizations that have been impacted by Kanye’s controversial statements.

The company had initially projected a staggering $1.3 billion revenue loss for the year, attributed to its inability to sell the designer’s Yeezy clothing and shoes.

However, the situation is now looking more promising, as strong sales of the leftover Yeezy inventory are helping the brand recover some of its losses.

Adidas is embarking on a second round of Yeezy product clearance, following the release of unsold merchandise in May.

Shoppers in the US and worldwide will have the opportunity to purchase the 2022 products from the Yeezy brand, with the sale taking place exclusively online. The clearance event will run throughout August.

In a commendable move, Adidas has pledged to donate a “significant amount” from the proceeds to selected organizations dedicated to combating discrimination and hate, including racism and antisemitism.

This commitment aligns with the company’s efforts to address the impact of Kanye’s statements and support initiatives that promote inclusivity and understanding.

As Adidas endeavours to put an end to this chapter of its partnership with Ye, shoppers and fans of the Yeezy brand have a unique opportunity to acquire coveted products during this limited-time sale.

The brand’s decision to channel part of the proceeds into meaningful causes reflects its commitment to making a positive impact and fostering a more inclusive future.
