Adidas Removes Yeezy Products Following Kanye West’s Instagram Rant
Adidas has removed all Yeezy-branded products from its website following a heated Instagram post from Kanye West. The move comes just a day after the 47-year-old artist criticized the company, accusing it of hindering his independent efforts and calling out past grievances.
In his Instagram post, West shared a screenshot of a Google search for “Yeezy,” which showed Adidas’ website appearing ahead of his YZY site. “Our partnership is done,” he wrote. “You’re a $60 billion company that froze my accounts. Now I’m back on my feet, and I’m not going to stand for this.”
While the removal appears reactive to West’s comments, it aligns with Adidas’ earlier announcement that 2025 would mark the complete severance of ties with the controversial designer. Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden confirmed in October 2024 that all remaining Yeezy stock would be sold off by the end of the year. “There aren’t any more open issues,” Gulden said, emphasizing that the company had moved on from its contentious relationship with West.
Adidas cut ties with the artist in 2022 following his anti-Semitic remarks, but West has long accused the brand of mistreating him before the fallout. In his latest comments, he reiterated accusations of design theft and claimed the company had tried to “oppress” him even before the controversial tweet that ended their partnership.
West also took aim at Fear of God founder Jerry Lorenzo for collaborating with Adidas, calling the partnership disloyal. “Y’all know Jerry was corny and disloyal for doing work with Adidas after the way they handled things,” he wrote, referencing his past support for Lorenzo’s work.
Adidas’ decision to erase all traces of Yeezy from its website underscores the finality of their split with West. Despite their past collaboration’s success, the relationship ultimately unraveled due to creative and personal disputes.
