AfroNation Festival’s Inaugural Lagos Edition Cancelled Due to Quality Concerns

The highly anticipated AfroNation festival, scheduled for its first edition in Lagos, Nigeria, faced an unfortunate cancellation.

The organizers of the renowned Afro Nation Festival conveyed their disappointment and revealed the unanimous decision to cancel the event, leaving music enthusiasts and fans across Nigeria disheartened. The cancellation stemmed from the inability to ensure a show that matched the expected quality standards deserving of Nigeria.

AfroNation, a globally celebrated festival honouring the vibrant Afrobeat music genre, has seen successful editions in various countries like Portugal, Ghana, Miami, and Detriot.

The Lagos showcase was poised as a homecoming for the festival, marking its first display in the birthplace of Afrobeats. The event had promised a two-day spectacle with musical performances by acclaimed artists such as Burna Boy, J Hus, Seyi Vibez, and Black Sherif.

In a press release shared across social media, the event organizers expressed, “Afro Nation Nigeria 2023 – Cancellation Information.

As disappointed as we are that we won’t be coming to Lagos this year, we want our homecoming show to be up to the standards you deserve. We’ll be back soon, bigger and better!” The organizers assured to refund all ticket purchases, reiterating their commitment to creating a stellar AfroNation experience in Lagos in the future.
