Coming on the heels of the loss of the defamation lawsuit against her former husband, Hollywood actress, Amber Heard will be appealing the verdict, which went in favour of Johnny Depp.
This was revealed by Heard’s lawyer, Heard’s lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft after Depp was awarded $10 million in damages and $350,000 in punitive damages.
In itts verdict, the jury also agreed that Heard was defamed on one of her counterclaims and she was awarded $2 million – this was in relation to statements made by Depp’s former lawyer, Adam Waldman, who said that Heard and her friends had “spilled wine and roughed up the place” to make it appear that a property was damaged after an alleged fight.
In an interview with NBC News, Bredehoft pointed out that Heard is “unable to pay” the $10,350,000 that the verdict has ordered her to and claims evidence was suppressed in the court of law.
She was also of the opinion that Heard was given a fair trial, due to the enormous amount of attention it received on both social media and traditional news outlets.
