American Gamer Breaks Guinness Record for Fastest Super Mario Bros Completion

An American speedrunner known as Niftski has set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest completion of Super Mario Bros, finishing the classic game in an astonishing 4 minutes and 54.565 seconds.

Niftski achieved this milestone on January 10, pushing the limits of precision gaming. His heart rate reportedly spiked to 177 beats per minute as he navigated the game’s levels with remarkable speed and efficiency.

To secure the record, he used advanced techniques such as warp zones, optimizing Mario’s acceleration, and executing precise flagpole landings. His success is attributed to rigorous practice, dedicating nearly all his gaming time to refining his skills.

“I cannot stress how important it is to obey the saying ‘practice makes perfect,’” Niftski told Guinness World Records. “I spend at least 90% of my time practicing and 10% of my time doing speedruns, which I believe is a good reason why I’ve made it so far in this game.”

His achievement adds another milestone to the competitive world of speedrunning, where gamers continuously push the boundaries of skill and strategy in classic video games.
