Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Remake Expected to Arrive Before End of Q1 2026

Ubisoft is preparing to release a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag before the end of its current fiscal year, according to new information emerging alongside the company’s delayed financial update.

Although the publisher has not yet formally confirmed the project, reporting from Insider Gaming – based on more than a year of internal leaks and development insights – indicates that the revamped version of the 2013 fan favourite is scheduled to launch before March 31, 2026. The outlet suggests the release could fall in the week of March 23, positioning it as Ubisoft’s final major title for the fiscal year.

Hints of an unannounced game appeared in Ubisoft’s latest earnings materials, which were released later than expected after the company temporarily paused trading. The briefing listed a single unnamed title set for release before March 31, sitting alongside confirmed projects such as Rainbow Six Mobile, The Division: Resurgence, and Anno 117: Pax Romana. Sources familiar with the publisher’s plans say the unnamed game is the Black Flag remake.

The original Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remains one of the most acclaimed entries in the franchise, praised for its naval exploration and open-sea combat. Anticipation around a modern remake has grown steadily, with recent leaks suggesting the updated version may incorporate more role-playing elements than the original.

Ubisoft has not issued any official comment or announcement regarding the remake, but industry watchers believe formal confirmation could arrive as the company moves deeper into its 2025–2026 release cycle.
