In a preseason friendly that can only be described as a lopsided affair, Bayern Munich showcased their dominance by thrashing ninth-tier Rottach-Egern with an astonishing scoreline of 27-0 on Tuesday. The defending German champions left no room for mercy against the amateur side, proving that they might not need star striker Harry Kane after all, despite rumours linking him with a move to the Bundesliga club from Tottenham Hotspur.
The first half of the match saw Bayern already leading by a whopping 18-0, and while Rottach-Egern managed to limit the damage in the second half, they still conceded an additional nine goals. The Bayern players were in top form, with Jamal Musiala, Mathys Tel, and Marcel Sabitzer each netting five goals, while Serge Gnabry completed a hat-trick.
The venue for the one-sided encounter was Bayern Munich’s training camp near the picturesque town of Tegernsee. Head coach Thomas Tuchel utilized two entirely different lineups, playing one in each half to maintain the intensity throughout the game.
