Beyoncé Escapes On-Stage Scare During Houston Show as Stage Rig Malfunctions
Superstar Beyoncé experienced a tense moment during her Cowboy Carter Tour stop in Houston, her hometown, when a stage stunt involving a suspended vintage Cadillac went awry mid-performance.
The high-flying spectacle, which featured the singer seated in a classic Cadillac lifted above the crowd by cables, took a frightening turn as the car unexpectedly began tilting to one side, prompting the Grammy winner to grab onto a flagpole for support.
Audience members could hear Beyoncé urgently calling out, “Stop! Stop, stop, stop stop,” as the vehicle swayed above the crowd.
Despite the momentary chaos, the malfunction was brought under control, and the car was safely lowered to the stage without injuries. Later in the show, Beyoncé addressed the incident with grace and reassurance, telling fans, “If ever I fall, I know y’all will catch me.”
Her management company, Parkwood Entertainment, later issued a statement describing the incident as a “technical mishap” and confirmed that no one was harmed. “She was quickly lowered, and the show continued without further incident,” the statement read.
The incident in Houston follows a string of high-profile moments on the tour. During her stop in Paris, Beyoncé surprised fans by bringing her husband JAY-Z on stage—marking their first joint performance since their “On the Run II” tour in 2018. The couple performed their 2003 hit “Crazy in Love”, and later blended fan favourites “Drunk in Love” and “Partition” before Jay rounded off his cameo with a solo performance of “N—s in Paris”, minus his collaborator Kanye West.
In another touching moment on the tour, Beyoncé paid tribute to Sir Paul McCartney, the writer of “Blackbird,” which she reimagined for her latest album Cowboy Carter. Sharing photos on Instagram in a custom blackbird-themed outfit designed by McCartney’s daughter Stella, Beyoncé wrote:
“Thank you, Sir Paul McCartney, for writing one of the best songs ever made. Every time I sing it I feel so honored. And it is a full circle moment to wear your beautiful daughter’s design.”
She also thanked her fans in London, where she performed three sold-out nights, saying, “Thank you, London, for creating unforgettable memories for me and my family. Holla at ya when I come on tour again!”
With just seven shows remaining, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour is set to wrap up on July 26 in Las Vegas. Despite the brief scare in Houston, the tour continues to deliver unforgettable moments on and off the stage.
