Bien and Adekunle Gold Collaborate on New Hit Single ‘Wahala’
Award-winning artist Bien has teamed up with Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold and emerging talent ShineTTW for their latest single, “Wahala.” This energetic track is the standout feature on the deluxe edition of Bien’s new album, Alusa, Why Are You Topless, poised to become a global summer anthem.
“Wahala,” a term meaning “trouble” or “drama” in Nigerian Pidgin English, delivers a vibrant fusion of musical styles. The track blends Kenyan-inspired drum patterns with South African log drums and lively Nigerian percussion, creating an infectious beat. Produced by Remy Baggins, the song is a lively tribute to beautiful women, designed to get listeners dancing with its captivating rhythm.
The collaboration brings together some of Africa’s top musical talents, celebrating the continent’s rich sonic diversity. Bien expressed the ease and joy of working with Adekunle Gold, saying, “Any time a King from the East meets a King from the West, it is ‘Wahala’.” Adekunle Gold echoed this sentiment, describing the creation of the track as an enjoyable experience with his “brother.”
Bien, who is a member of the renowned Kenyan Afro-pop band Sauti Sol, has been a key figure in shaping the East African pop scene for nearly a decade. His debut solo album, Alusa, Why Are You Topless?, has already garnered significant acclaim, amassing over 70 million streams and topping charts across East Africa.
The deluxe edition of the album, which includes “Wahala,” features five new tracks and collaborations with other African music icons such as Fally Ipupa and Rayvanny. “Wahala” is not just a celebration of African music but also promises to be a dance floor favorite.
Bien is set to take this vibrant energy on tour, with performances scheduled across the United States and Europe in July and August. Fans can now stream “Wahala” on all major platforms and experience the electrifying collaboration.
