Buju Banton Receives Support from DJ Khaled & Sean Paul Following Tragic Loss of Son

Reggae and dancehall icon Buju Banton has garnered an outpouring of support from fellow musicians, including DJ Khaled, Sean Paul, and Gramps Morgan, after the devastating loss of his 20-year-old son, Miles Myrie.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday (April 4), Banton shared a poignant photo of his son along with a heartfelt caption: “Sip papa God knows.”

Sean Paul expressed his condolences on the post, writing: “JAH JAH 😢 CONDOLENCES 2 U N DI FAM MI BREDDA!!! 🙏”

DJ Khaled also took to Instagram to send his love and prayers to Banton and his family, sharing a post featuring Buju with his son, Miles Myrie. He captioned the post: “Sending my love and prayers to @bujubanton and his whole family 🤲 Miles Myrie bless up 🤲.”

Additionally, fellow reggae star Gramps Morgan commented on Banton’s post, offering words of strength: “MIGHTY MY HEART IS WITH YOU BREDDA PRAYERS WITH YOU THE MOM AND FAMILY STAY ATRONG MI BREDDA!!”

The heartbreaking news of Miles’ passing was confirmed by the Jamaica Observer, with Buju Banton’s son, Jahazeil Myrie, sharing memories of his brother. Jahazeil described Miles as a motivational individual who aspired to be a rapper, despite initially dreaming of becoming a judge.

Buju Banton, whose legendary status in the dancehall scene spans decades, recently collaborated with Lil Wayne and Shabba Ranks on the song “Hallelujah Heaven.” The track, blending gospel and dancehall elements, was featured on the soundtrack for the film The Book of Clarence, produced by Jeymes Samuel.

The lyrics of “Hallelujah Heaven” underscore the vibrancy of the collaboration, with Lil Wayne delivering poignant verses alongside Shabba Ranks and Buju Banton, a testament to Banton’s enduring influence and impact on the music industry.
