Sebastien Haller

Bundesliga: Sebastien Haller Out of Borussia Dortmund Action For the Rest of 2022

In an unfortunate turn of events, German side, Borussia Dortmund will have to navigate the incoming season without their new striker, Sebastien Haller following his surgery.

It would be recalled that Haller had a testicular tumour discovered earlier this month and has since had it successfully removed.

Following he removal of the tumour, he is currently on the road to recovery with his new club.

“There’s still talk about what kind of therapy he’ll need, but it’s clear that he’ll be absent for a couple of months,” said sporting director Sebastian Kehl.

German newspaper Bild have reported that the surgery went to plan, and the player is now with his family awaiting guidance on the next steps towards recovery.

With the 2022 World Cup meaning that Europe’s leagues will be on a break from November, Haller’s calendar year has already come to an end.

Incidentally, Haller only arrived at Dortmund this summer from Ajax. He was signed to fill the void left by Erling Haaland’s move to Manchester City.

The 28-year-old Ivorian abruptly left their pre-season training camp in Switzerland after the tumour was found during medical tests.
