Burna Boy: ‘Diddy Made Speed Darlington Popular’ – Seun Kuti Claims

Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has distanced himself from the controversy surrounding fellow artists Burna Boy and Speed Darlington.

The rift began after Speed Darlington accused Burna Boy of engaging in inappropriate relations with American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs to secure a Grammy win. Speed Darlington’s allegations eventually led to his arrest.

Addressing the situation during an Instagram live session, Seun Kuti made it clear he had no intention of getting involved in the feud. He emphasized that his relationship with Burna Boy, including receiving a diamond gift from him, does not make him an advisor or confidant.

“Don’t involve me in Burna Boy and Speed Darlington’s case,” Kuti stated. “Because I collected a diamond from him doesn’t mean I’m his close adviser.”

Kuti also remarked on Speed Darlington’s rise to fame, crediting Diddy for popularizing Darlington’s music. “Diddy was even the one who made Speed Darlington popular. He reposted ‘Bangdadang,’ which made the song famous. I’ve done many songs, and Diddy never posted any of them, but he reposted Speed Darlington’s song,” Kuti noted.

The remarks have added another layer of intrigue to the ongoing saga between Burna Boy and Speed Darlington.
