Cardi B Dismisses Claims That Offset Split Is a Publicity Stunt, Urges Fans to ‘Be Real’
Cardi B has strongly refuted speculation that her recent breakup with Offset is merely a publicity stunt, urging her fans to take the situation seriously. During a recent social media live session, the Grammy-winning rapper addressed the rumors that started circulating after it was revealed that she and Offset are still living in the same house, despite their separation.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper made it clear that using her breakup to boost attention would harm both her and Offset’s careers. She questioned the logic behind the claims, asking, “Do you really think my baby dad is going to sacrifice his career that he worked so hard for, just for my PR? Be real about yourself.”
Cardi went on to explain that their separation doesn’t mean she wishes ill on Offset. She highlighted the financial responsibilities they share, including childcare and their children’s education, emphasizing that she wouldn’t want Offset’s career to suffer because it would also affect their family.
“I don’t want my baby daddy to go broke or nothing, ’cause guess who helps over here? You can leave, but you gonna help with these kids,” she said.
In a pointed criticism of the double standards surrounding their relationship, Cardi expressed frustration over the different reactions to their breakup compared to the rumors of Offset’s infidelity that have circulated throughout their marriage.
“When I separate myself from my baby father, it’s a publicity stunt? But every time y’all threw his cheating rumors in my face, that wasn’t a stunt? Now that I leave, y’all are just mad because you can’t use that against me anymore,” she said.
Earlier this week, Cardi B confirmed that she has no intention of reconciling with Offset, following her recent divorce filing. Speaking on X Spaces, she acknowledged the difficulty of going through a breakup, especially with children involved, and said that their split is permanent this time.
While she maintained that the decision is final, Cardi admitted the emotional challenges of transitioning to a life where their children will have to adjust to their father no longer being present daily.
“It’s hard, especially for the kids. Your dad is not going to be here with you every day after school. It’s something they’ll have to get used to,” she shared, acknowledging the toll the separation is taking on their family.
