Cardi B Refutes Claims About Offset in Divorce, Praises His Support
Cardi B has expressed her displeasure with an “exclusive source” spreading details about her impending divorce from Offset, which she claims are inaccurate.
On August 3, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper responded to a post by The Jasmine Brand on Instagram, which summarized a People article from the previous day. The article cited an “exclusive source” who claimed that Cardi B was divorcing Offset due to a lack of support and commitment to their family.
The source alleged that Cardi B expected a fully contributing partner who prioritized family, but felt Offset was not fulfilling that role. They described Cardi as needing “good vibes and positive energy only in her life.”
Cardi B countered these claims in the comments, stating, “Ok this is getting weird cause I can say he helps me a lot with my business and the kids.” She questioned the legitimacy of the so-called insider information, emphasizing that neither her friends nor family have ever gone to the media. Cardi clarified her position regarding the divorce, stating, “Even with my filing I’m not asking for child support; my claim is for him to only pay for the bills he already pays on the kids and the new one.”
The news of the divorce broke on August 1 via TMZ, which reported that Cardi B’s decision was not related to the infidelity rumors that have dogged their seven-year relationship. A source close to the couple suggested the divorce was “a long time coming” and noted that they had been growing apart for some time. Despite efforts to reconcile earlier in the year, they were unable to resolve their issues.
Cardi B and Offset married in September 2017, but their relationship faced challenges, including a public cheating scandal. Cardi previously filed for divorce in 2020 but later withdrew the petition. Now, she has reportedly hired a high-profile divorce attorney and is seeking primary custody of their two children, six-year-old Kulture and two-year-old Wave.
