Court Documents Reveal Diddy Allegedly ‘Paid’ $1m to Have 2Pac Killed
American music mogul Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, has been implicated in the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur, according to newly released court documents.
The documents, as reported by the U.S. Sun, accuse the Bad Boy Records founder of paying $1 million to suspect Duane “Keefe D” Davis for Shakur’s assassination. Davis, who was arrested for the murder last year, is central to the allegations.
Filed on July 18, the documents reference Diddy 77 times by his various pseudonyms, including Puffy, Puff Daddy, Puff, and his legal name, Sean Combs. The papers suggest that Davis implicated Diddy during conversations with the police, despite Davis’ public assertions that he only incriminated himself.
“Defendant [Keefe] has asserted publicly that he only told on himself and wasn’t trying to provide evidence against anyone else in his conversations with police. However, this statement belies this claim, as he suggested that Sean Combs paid Eric Von Martin a million dollars for the killings,” the documents state.
In one of the transcripts, Davis allegedly testified to Diddy’s involvement in the murder. When police questioned Davis, asking, “Puffy Combs….Does he play a role in this thing?,” Davis responded, “Yeah, I think he did.” Davis claimed that Diddy had expressed a desire to see Suge Knight, Shakur’s associate, dead, out of fear and animosity stemming from a diss track Shakur had released about him.
Prosecutors submitted these documents to oppose Davis’ latest bail request. His $112,500 bail bond was rejected last month due to concerns about the source of the money.
It remains unclear whether Diddy will be subpoenaed or indicted as part of the ongoing case.
