Davido Vows to Always Protect Tiwa Savage Despite Past Fallout
Afrobeats star Davido has reaffirmed his commitment to protecting fellow music star Tiwa Savage, describing her as “family” and “a sister for life” despite their widely publicised fallout last year.
Speaking during an interview on The Breakfast Club, the Unavailable crooner reflected on his history with Tiwa and dismissed rumours of ongoing tension, promising to stand by her no matter what.
His comments come nearly a year after Tiwa Savage reportedly filed a petition against Davido, alleging he threatened her following her public association with his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu. The petition stemmed from a social media post in which Savage was seen in a photo with Momodu, sparking backlash from Davido.
At the time, the situation escalated, with Savage’s ex-husband, Teebillz, openly criticising Davido and threatening to take action on her behalf.
Now, Davido has publicly addressed the matter, offering clarity and expressing affection for Tiwa Savage. “Tiwa is my sister for life. We used to live in the same house. She changed the game for female artists in Africa,” he said.
Acknowledging that their disagreement was rooted in personal connections, he added, “It was just a brother and sister kind of fight. She reached out after, and I’ll never allow anything to happen to her.”
The Feel singer went on to emphasise that their relationship goes beyond music: “We are family. I love her and her child. That will never change.”
