Diddy Accused of Putting Bounty on 1999 Nightclub Shooting Victim’s Head
Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing new allegations that he commissioned a hit on Natania Reuben, a victim of a 1999 nightclub shooting for which Diddy was involved. Reuben, who was shot in the face during the altercation, has consistently maintained that Diddy was responsible for firing the shot. Following the incident, Diddy settled a civil lawsuit by paying Reuben approximately $1.8 million. While rapper Shyne, a former Bad Boy Records artist, was imprisoned for his involvement, Reuben asserts that it was Diddy who pulled the trigger.
In a recent interview with The Art Of Dialogue, Reuben claimed that Diddy placed a bounty on her head, forcing her to leave her Brooklyn home. She described the fear she experienced, recalling seeing four blacked-out SUVs surrounding her residence in Canarsie, Brooklyn.
“I was born and raised in Brooklyn and had no intentions of leaving,” Reuben said. “But when the District Attorney’s office informed me there was a bounty on my head, I had to move for my safety. I had businesses and a life there, but my safety came first.”
Reuben also clarified that her accusations against Diddy do not exonerate Shyne, who she described as a “con artist.”
“Shyne did not shoot me, but he is far from innocent,” she stated. Shyne, who was sentenced to ten years in prison in 2001 and released in 2009, has also commented on the allegations against Diddy. During a news conference earlier this year, he expressed frustration that he was made the “fall guy” for the incident.
“It opens wounds to hear the victim saying it was Diddy that shot her,” Shyne said. “I’ve been maintaining my innocence all along and said that I was defending myself. Everyone knew I took the fall.”
The controversy continues to cast a shadow over the events of that night, as new claims and old wounds resurface.
