Diddy Indicted on Sex Trafficking, Racketeering Charges
Sean “Diddy” Combs, the prominent rapper and business mogul, has been indicted on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. The indictment comes after months of legal turmoil surrounding the 54-year-old, culminating in his arrest by Homeland Security Investigations agents at a luxury hotel in New York.
The charges stem from allegations brought forward by several individuals, including Diddy’s former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Ventura had previously filed a lawsuit in late 2023, accusing the rapper of abuse, rape, and human trafficking during their 10-year relationship. She described Combs as a “serial domestic abuser,” with claims that she had suffered frequent physical assaults, leaving her with visible injuries. While the case was settled privately shortly after it was filed, Combs refuted the claims, labelling them as extortion attempts.
Further complicating Diddy’s legal woes is another lawsuit from Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, a former producer who has accused the artist of sexual harassment and threats. A separate incident in Michigan also saw Combs involved in a $100 million default judgment against him in 2024, related to a sexual assault claim filed by an inmate.
In addition to these accusations, the case against Diddy gained traction when a video from 2016 surfaced earlier this year, showing him physically assaulting Cassie. Combs publicly apologized, acknowledging his behaviour as unacceptable.
Federal authorities intensified their investigation earlier this year, conducting raids on properties linked to the rapper. Diddy’s arrest and indictment now signal a significant escalation in the case. The rapper has maintained his innocence throughout these developments, though he has not yet commented on his latest legal challenges.
