Dolly Parton Responds to Claims of Being Miley Cyrus’ Distant Cousin
Country music icon Dolly Parton has addressed reports suggesting that she is the distant cousin of pop star Miley Cyrus. According to a family history website, Ancestry.com, both Parton and the late Michael Jackson are linked to Cyrus, making them her seventh cousins.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Parton responded to the news, expressing little surprise at the revelation. “We’re so close, Miley and I. I would’ve thought we’d have been at least third cousins, 10 times removed,” she joked, adding that their connection has always felt familial. “It doesn’t surprise me because she does feel like family.”
Parton went on to say she was sure Cyrus would find the news amusing. The bond between the two stars is well-known, with Miley Cyrus often referring to Dolly Parton as her role model and godmother.
