Doris Simeon Opens Up About Custody Battle with Ex-Husband, Reveals Pain of Separation from Son [VIDEO]
Nollywood actress Doris Simeon has shared her emotional experience regarding the long-running custody battle over her son with her ex-husband, filmmaker Daniel Ademinokan. In an interview on the “Talk to B” podcast with actress Biola Adebayo, Simeon described the deep pain of being separated from her child since he was a toddler.
Reflecting on the situation, Simeon revealed that the last time she had a chance to fully mother her son was when he was only three years old. According to her, Ademinokan moved their son to the United States when the child was four, without her consent, leaving her struggling to stay connected.
“I might have had my faults, and he had his too. But the painful part is that he didn’t allow me to mother my child,” she said. She recounted how communication with her son became increasingly difficult, with her calls often going unanswered or delayed by months.
The emotional strain led her to feelings of frustration and depression, especially as her attempts to visit or communicate with her son were repeatedly met with barriers. The situation eventually led them to court after a chance encounter during a movie premiere prompted her to take legal action.
The actress’s story sheds light on the challenges faced by parents in custody disputes, especially when separation distances complicate efforts to maintain a parental bond.
