Drake Gets Booed In Toronto At Limp Bizkit Concert
Drake experienced an unexpected reception at a Limp Bizkit concert in his hometown. During the band’s performance at the Budweiser Stage on Wednesday, July 24, frontman Fred Durst announced Drake’s presence, but the crowd responded with boos.
“Did you know Drake’s here tonight?” Durst asked, only to be met with audible disapproval. Confused, he responded, “I thought Drake was your homie? What? No? Drake’s my homie.”
Drake’s recent reception in Toronto isn’t the only challenge he’s facing. Recently, Soulja Boy criticized him for what appeared to be a diss on an unreleased collaboration with Lil Yachty. The track, tentatively titled “Super Soak,” was previewed on Kai Cenat’s livestream, where Drake raps, “I’m watching the moves, playin’ it close/ SOD, super soak,” seemingly referencing Soulja Boy’s record label Stacks on Deck and his 2007 song “Super Soak.”
Soulja Boy quickly responded on Instagram Live, issuing a stern warning to Drake. “Drake, you better keep that shit light, my boy. This your first and only warning,” he said. “If you’re any form, shape, or way trying to disrespect me or sneak diss, I’m on yo ass, boy.”
He continued by mentioning Drake’s ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar, questioning why Drake would target him instead of addressing Kendrick. “How the fuck you let Kendrick Lamar cook yo ass, and then the first thing you do is try to come at me? Twin, it better be a shout-out!”
Drake’s lyrics seemed to be a response to Soulja Boy’s recent social media criticism, where he expressed disappointment in Drake’s handling of his beef with Kendrick Lamar.
“Swag Season July 28 never let a n-gga try me like I’m Drake,” Soulja wrote on X. “You disappointed me. @Drake.”
In another post, he added: “Doing all them weak ass songs with them n-ggaz look where it got u none of them n-ggaz you collab with or took on tour had yo back @Drake.”
With the mixed reactions from fans and the ongoing tension with Soulja Boy, Drake is navigating a challenging period both at home and in the industry.
