‘I Can’t be Doing All the Work’ — Paul Okoye Insists on P-Square Split
Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy from the music duo P-Square, has doubled down on his decision to part ways with his twin brother and bandmate, Peter Okoye. Speaking in an Instagram live session on Wednesday, Paul expressed frustration over what he described as an unequal workload within the group.
In his remarks, Paul highlighted the burden he felt in carrying most of the musical responsibilities, while others reaped the benefits. “Those days of ‘monkey dey work, baboon dey chop,’ I no go do again,” he said in Pidgin. “Every time, it’s just me singing all the songs. I won’t do it anymore.”
The rift between the brothers became public years ago, and in a previous interview, Paul accused Peter of involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in their personal disputes. The tension between the two, which first led to the group’s breakup in 2017, has resurfaced despite their brief reunion in 2021.
Paul emphasized that the reasons behind the split are deeper than they appear to fans, suggesting the long-standing disagreements between the brothers remain unresolved.
