Diddy Accused of Armed Kidnapping and Plotting to Destroy Kid Cudi’s Car
Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing serious criminal charges after being accused of orchestrating an armed kidnapping and plotting to blow up rapper Kid Cudi’s car. The allegations, stemming from a fallout over Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie, are part of a larger case involving sex trafficking and racketeering.
Federal prosecutors unveiled new details on Tuesday (September 17), revealing that the hip-hop mogul, alongside a co-conspirator, kidnapped a victim at gunpoint on December 22, 2011, in an effort to break into Kid Cudi’s home. These details were disclosed in a 16-page letter submitted by prosecutors arguing against bail for Diddy.
According to the court documents, witnesses are prepared to testify that two weeks after the kidnapping, Diddy’s associates set fire to Kid Cudi’s vehicle by throwing a Molotov cocktail into it. Police and fire department reports corroborate the arson incident, confirming it was intentional.
Although Kid Cudi’s name is not explicitly mentioned in the indictment, the allegations align with claims made by Cassie in a previous lawsuit filed in 2023. In the suit, Cassie described how Diddy became enraged after discovering her brief relationship with Cudi and later threatened to destroy his car. Shortly afterward, Cudi’s car exploded in his driveway.
In addition to the kidnapping and arson charges, Diddy faces multiple accusations of abusing women over the course of a decade. The indictment outlines a pattern of coercion, violence, and exploitation, with prosecutors alleging that Diddy organized “freak offs” — highly choreographed sexual encounters he directed, recorded, and used to manipulate his victims.
Federal agents have reportedly gathered extensive evidence, including footage of these sexual performances and over 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant, during raids on Diddy’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami earlier this year.
Diddy, who has pleaded not guilty, could face a minimum of 15 years to life in prison if convicted. His legal team continues to contest the charges, while the case is set to move forward in court.
